Caring and mental health
Mental health matters
for all carers
72% of carers in the UK said they had experienced poor mental health as a result of caring.
Do we know
how carers really feel?
Talking isn’t always easy. Watch our short film to hear some unpaid carers open up about their mental wellbeing to those closest to them.
Are you taking care
of your own Mental health?
Finding the time, energy and money to take care of yourself as well as someone else can be an enormous challenge.
Carers UK provides free online support services, community forums and advice to try and relieve some of the pressure. Visit their website to learn how they can help.
Why it matters
3 in 4 carers feel that their role is not understood or valued in the community, while over half of carers expect their mental health to get worse in the next two years.
Most of us will care for someone who’s older, disabled or seriously ill at some point in our lives, so we’re working with Carers UK to help carers up and down the country.
It’s time to #ShareThatYouCare
Caring can be challenging, and many carers are uncomfortable talking to others around them about their role as a carer. Through our campaign, we want to help give the UK’s carers a voice and get the support and information they need.
#ShareThatYouCare to show your support.
